A Short Introduction To Igbinedion University

Igbinedion University is a private university located in Okada, Edo State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1999 by Sir Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin and is the first private university in the state of Edo. 

The university is named after its founder and is also known as IU, and has a diverse student body, with over 10,000 students from all over Nigeria and beyond. 

It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields such as law, engineering, medicine, arts, and sciences. 

The university is known for its high-quality education and state-of-the-art facilities.

Igbinedion University School Fees For New Students

Tuition fees at IUO can vary depending on several factors, including the program of study, the level of study (undergraduate or postgraduate), and the student’s residency status.

The amount is solely based on the specific program of study and the student’s level of study. For example, tuition fees for engineering and medicine programs may be higher than other programs in the arts or social sciences.

In addition to tuition fees, students at IUO may also be required to pay other fees, such as a registration fee, a hostel fee, and a library fee. Students are to pay these fees on a semester-by-semester basis.

IUO Cut-Off Mark

The BU JAMB general cut-off mark for all courses is 180. And the Post-UTME cut-off mark is a minimum of 50/100. 

That means you must score at least 180 in your JAMB exam and a minimum of 50 over 100 in the BU Post-UTME screening to be eligible for admission.

Igbinedion University Admission Requirements For All Candidates

Admission Requirements For UTME Candidates

1. Candidates must have reached the age of 16.

2. Candidates must have at least 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result (s). That must include English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects related to their course of study. 

For instance, a Candidate that wants to study law must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics and Literature in English.

3. Candidates must score at least 180 in the JAMB UTME examination.

4. Candidates must take the IUO Post-UTME screening examination and perform well.

5. Not more than TWO sitting result is accepted for admission into Igbinedion University (IU). 

6. Candidates must choose the correct subject combination for their courses.

7. Lastly, candidates must meet the stipulated cut-off marks for their courses to gain admission into the university.

Admission Requirements For Direct Entry Candidates

1. Candidates must possess at least five (5) Credits in their O-Level results. 

That must include English Language and Mathematics. However, no more two sitting result is not allowed.

2. Candidates must have also reached the age of 16.

3. Candidates are expected to get the JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB to apply.

4. Candidates should have one of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, and ICAN.

IU Post-UTME

Igbinedion University Post UTME form fee is N2,000 (Two Thousand Naira), and you must pay via the school portal.

Please also note that the fee is non-refundable. However, you will be required to pay appropriate bank charges.

Does IU Accept Second Choice Candidates?

No, the school does not accept second-choice candidates.
