A resignation letter is a type of formal letter and should be kept as such. Don't make things informal, chatty or too emotional.

Some key things to keep in mind when writing your resignation letter
- state that you are resigning and what position you are resigning from (this position is the official position you hold in the organization. Example: Science Teacher).
- make sure to include the date you are resigning (usually, this is the date you submit the letter). This is also the date your resignation notice starts counting if you are required to give a notice period, which in most cases is 2 weeks or one month notice period.
- try as much as possible to submit the resignation letter in hard copy. You can also submit via email if the hard copy submission is not possible for you.
- it is not compulsory to state in your resignation letter why you are resigning.
