Attributes of Integrity - JSS2 Civic education Lesson Note

Reliability: Individuals with integrity are dependable and fulfill their commitments and obligations. They can be counted on to follow through on their promises and responsibilities.

Accountability: People of integrity take ownership of their actions and accept responsibility for their mistakes. They do not shift blame onto others or make excuses to avoid consequences.

Trustworthiness: Integrity fosters trust among peers, colleagues, and society as a whole. When someone demonstrates integrity, others have confidence in their character and intentions.

Consistency: Integrity is about maintaining moral principles and values consistently, even in challenging situations or when faced with temptation.

Fairness: Individuals with integrity treat others with fairness and impartiality, respecting the rights and dignity of all individuals regardless of differences.

Respect: Integrity involves showing respect for oneself and others, recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of every human being.

Courage: It takes courage to uphold integrity, especially in situations where one may face pressure to compromise on moral principles. Individuals with integrity demonstrate moral courage in standing up for what is right.
