Changing Percentages to Decimals - JSS1 Mathematics Lesson Note

To convert a percentage to a decimal, you simply divide the percentage value by 100. Here is how it works:

Example 1: Convert 25% to a decimal.

Step 1: Divide 25 by 100:

25/100 = 0.25

100/25 =0.25

So, 25% as a decimal is 0.25.

Example 2: Convert 75% to a decimal.

Step 1: Divide 75 by 100:

75/100 = 0.75

100/75 =0.75

Thus, 75% as a decimal is 0.75.
