Consonant /h/ 

The consonant /h/ is a significant part of English language phonetics. Here are some key points to remember:

The /h/ sound is found at the beginning of words such as ‘hit’, ‘hood’, ‘hawk’, ‘home’, ‘herd’, ‘hide’, ‘hall’, ‘whole’, ‘who’, ‘whore’, ‘whom’, ‘head’, ‘behave’, ‘adhere’, ‘abhor’, ‘inhabit’, ‘perhaps’, ‘behold’, ‘behind’, ‘ahead’, ‘inhale’, ‘inhibit’, ‘rehearse’, 'inherit’.
