Conversion from one unit to the other - SS2 ICT Lesson Note

Converting from one unit to another involves changing the measurement of a quantity from one unit of measurement to another while preserving the same quantity. Conversion between different units is a common task in various fields, such as physics, engineering, and everyday life.  Here are some common types of unit conversions:

Length:

To convert from inches to centimeters, multiply the value in inches by 2.54.

To convert from meters to feet, multiply the value in meters by 3.281.

 

Temperature:

To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, use the formula: F = (C * 9/5) + 32.

To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, use the formula: C = (F - 32) * 5/9.

 

Mass:

To convert kilograms to pounds, multiply the value in kilograms by 2.205.

To convert ounces to grams, multiply the value in ounces by 28.35.

 

Volume:

To convert liters to gallons, multiply the value in liters by 0.264.

To convert cubic meters to cubic feet, multiply the value in cubic meters by 35.315.
