Hunter's Chain - SS2 Agriculture Lesson Note

A hunter's chain is a traditional surveying tool used to measure distances in the field.

It consists of a long chain made up of metallic links, typically 66 feet in length.

Surveyors would lay out the chain on the ground, link by link, to measure distances between two points.

This method, although less precise than modern tools, was widely used in the past for land surveys.
