Identifying Simple Equation in One Variable - JSS1 Mathematics Lesson Note
A simple equation in one variable is an algebraic statement that equates two expressions involving a single variable. The general form of a simple equation in one variable is:
๐๐ฅ+๐=0
where ๐ and ๐ are constants, and ๐ฅ is the variable.
To identify a simple equation in one variable:
It must involve only one variable (typically denoted as ๐ฅ, ๐ฆ,๐ก, etc.).
It should have an equal sign (=) that equates two expressions.
The variable should not appear in any other terms apart from the left and right-hand sides of the equation.
Example:
3๐ฅโ5=10
In this example, 3๐ฅโ5 and 10 are the two expressions being equated, and ๐ฅ is the variable.
