Interpret the Plotted Graph - JSS2 Mathematics Lesson Note
The graph of a linear equation shows all the solutions to the equation. Each point on the line represents a pair (x, y) that satisfies the equation.
Β
Example:
For π¦=2π₯+1:
When π₯=1,Β
π¦=3
When π₯=2,Β
π¦=5
The slope of the line (rise/run) is 2, meaning for every unit increase in π₯, π¦ increases by 2 units. The y-intercept (where the line crosses the y-axis) is 1.
