Introduction to Drawing Techniques: Lines, Shapes, Projections - JSS1 Basic technology Lesson Note
Lines:
  - Types of Lines: Different lines convey different meanings in a drawing. Solid lines indicate visible edges, dashed lines represent hidden edges, and centre lines are used to show symmetry.
  - Line Thickness: Varying the thickness of lines helps in distinguishing different parts of the drawing, such as main outlines, hidden details, and cutting planes.
Shapes:
  - Basic Shapes: Fundamental shapes like circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles form the basis of more complex drawings. Mastery of these shapes is essential for creating accurate and detailed designs.
  - Complex Shapes: These are built from combinations of basic shapes and are used to represent real-world objects more precisely.
Projections:
  - Orthographic Projection: This technique involves projecting views of an object onto different planes (usually three: front, top, and side) to represent the object’s dimensions and shape accurately. It provides a comprehensive view of the object from multiple angles.
  - Isometric Projection: A method to represent three-dimensional objects in two dimensions, giving a pictorial view of the object where the axes are equally inclined to the plane of projection.
  - Perspective Projection: This technique mimics how the human eye sees, with objects appearing smaller as they get further away. It’s used to create realistic views of objects and structures.
