Cassava: The land for cassava should be cleared of weeds and debris. Tilling or plowing may be necessary to break up the soil. Rows or ridges are prepared for planting cassava cuttings. Adding organic matter can improve soil fertility.

Sweet Potatoes: Prepare the land by tilling or plowing to create raised beds or ridges. These beds should be well-drained. Organic matter can be added to improve soil fertility. Rows or ridges are used to plant sweet potato slips.
