Marriage can be defined as the socially and legally binding union between two persons with the exclusion of all others. Marriage is made official by either religious or civil ceremony.

Marriage is the union of man and a woman as husband and wife. It is an approved union between two adults of the opposite sex. Marriage involves a man and woman living together and taking joint care of the children resulting from the union.
