Quantitative Aptitude Problems on Areas of Plane Figures - JSS3 Mathematics Lesson Note

These problems are designed to test your understanding of area concepts and may involve calculations under time constraints or with given conditions.

Example:

Find the area of a rectangular garden with dimensions 12 meters by 8 meters, and then determine how many square tiles of 1 meter by 1 meter are needed to cover the entire garden.

To solve:

Calculate the area of the garden:

Area=length × width

=12×8

=96 square meters

Calculate the area of one tile:

Area of one tile=1×1=1 square meter

Determine the number of tiles needed:

96/1 =96 tiles.
