Range - JSS3 Mathematics Lesson Note

The range of a data set is the difference between the largest and smallest values in the data set. It gives a sense of how spread out the values in a data set are.

Example:

Consider the data set:

15,7,11,19,6,9.

Find the range:

Range=Largest value−Smallest value

Range=19−6=13

So, the range of this data set is 13.
