Ranging Pole:

A ranging pole is a long, slender rod usually made of lightweight material like aluminum or fiberglass.

It is marked with alternating bands of contrasting colors to enhance visibility.

Surveyors use ranging poles to mark specific points on the ground, such as reference points or corners of a parcel of land.

They are especially useful for measuring distances between points and determining elevation differences.
