Rounding off is a specific form of approximation where you adjust a number to a specified degree of accuracy, often to simplify calculations or communicate a general sense of the value. Examples include:

Rounding 73 to the nearest tens place gives 70.

 

Rounding 867 to the nearest hundreds place gives 900.

 

Rounding 5632 to the nearest thousands place gives 

6000.
