Similar Shapes - Identification of Plane Shapes - JSS3 Mathematics Lesson Note
Similar shapes in geometry refer to shapes that have the same shape but may differ in size. Two shapes are considered similar if:
- Their corresponding angles are equal.
- Their corresponding sides are proportional.
For example, two triangles are similar if their corresponding angles are equal and their corresponding sides are in proportion. This means you can enlarge or shrink one triangle to get the other, maintaining the same angles between corresponding sides.
