The significance of the triumphant entry in Jerusalem - JSS2 Christian Religious Studies Lesson Note

1. The significance of the triumphant entry into Jerusalem was that, it represented first, a fulfillment, of the biblical account of Jesus Christ,Open and deliberate assertion of messiahship.

2. He was not a political conqueror as the Jesus they were expecting His purpose was not to overthrow the Roman rule, rather, He was breaking the power of sin.

Particular note should be taken of the meekness and simplicity of Christ, He rode on a colt, a sign of humility. We are not to scheme or plot treason or sedition against our government Christ did not do so, though He knew that the Romans lorded it over the Jews.
