Totalitarianism - SS1 Government Lesson Note
Totalitarianism is a form of government in which the state has total control over all aspects of society and individual lives. It is characterized by a single ruling party or leader, propaganda, censorship, and the suppression of dissent.
In a totalitarian system, there is no freedom of speech, press, or religion. The government controls the economy, education, and all aspects of people's lives. Totalitarian regimes often use secret police, surveillance, and intimidation to maintain control. They can be associated with human rights abuses and widespread suffering.
