Types of Databases - JSS3 Computer Studies Lesson Note
1. Computerized Databases: Computerized databases are electronic databases that use computers and software applications to store, retrieve, and manage data. They offer advantages such as faster access, scalability, and the ability to handle large volumes of information. Examples include relational databases like MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
2. Manual Databases: Manual databases, on the other hand, rely on physical records, paper files, and manual methods for data storage and retrieval. While traditional and less common in the digital age, manual databases may still be used in certain situations where electronic systems are not feasible or cost-effective, especially in smaller organizations.
