Types of Family - JSS2 Social studies Lesson Note
Nuclear Family:
A nuclear family consists of two parents and their children living together in a single household. This structure is relatively small, allowing for close relationships and a more focused family dynamic. Decision-making is often centralized within the parents, fostering a sense of intimacy.
Extended Family:
An extended family expands beyond the nuclear unit to include relatives beyond parents and children. This can encompass grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Extended families often share resources and responsibilities, creating a broader support network that can provide diverse perspectives and assistance.
