The novel illustrates that migration has both positive and negative aspects. While some experience the benefits, others, like Hope, face challenges after relocating.

The director explained that the ritual was part of a special prayer for his late father, who had given him the land on which the school was built. This is on page 41 of the novel.

The novel suggests that Nigerians prefer relocating to the UK because they believe their children will receive better education and healthcare compared to Nigeria. This is discussed on pages 16 and 17 of the novel.

The staff at Stardom Schools find his reluctance to relocate amusing because they believe he should jump at the opportunity to earn abroad. They did the comparison of the amount earned both in Nigeria and abroad and resolved that it would be more profitable to relocate abroad. This can be found on page 11 of the novel. 

Mr Audu joked about Bepo\'s disposition saying: "The way the headmaster masterly resolves these fights reminds me of the way King Oloja, in Village Headmaster, resolved all the roforofos brought by his chiefs and villages. So, as they had their own Village Headmaster, we also have our own Lekki Headmaster." This can be found on page 10 of the novel. 

The term roforofos as used by Mr Audu on page 10 of the novel refers to "petty disagreements and conflicts". These were the conflicts that King Oloja, in Village Headmaster, tried to resolve.

The name Badagry originated from "Agbadarigi". This can be found on page 47 of the novel.
