Define marriage.
Marriage can be defined as the socially and legally binding union between two persons with the exclusion of all others. Marriage is made official by either religious or civil ceremony.

1. Age: The partner must be old enough for marriage.
2. Love: They should love each other deeply.
3. Background: Family background should also be considered.
4. Character: One should choose a partner with a good character or behaviour.
5. Health: The intending couple should go for medical check up to determine their state of health. They should carry out such vital tests as; Hiv/Aids, Genotype test.
6. Parental consent: They must seek their parents approval before getting married.
Define early marriage.
This is when two people, a boy and a girl below the age of eighteen get married to each other. The approved age for marriage in Nigeria is 18 years.
