What is "poetic license," and how does it contribute to the creative aspect of poetry? Provide examples of how poets use poetic license to enhance the meaning or impact of their poems.

Poetic license refers to a poet's freedom to deviate from traditional rules of language for creative purposes. It allows poets to use uncommon words, alter grammar, or even create new expressions. This creative freedom enhances the unique voice and style of a poet, making their work more engaging and impactful. For example, Emily Dickinson's use of unconventional capitalization and punctuation in her poetry adds an enigmatic and introspective quality. Likewise, e.e. cummings' manipulation of word order and spacing creates visual and auditory effects that elevate the meanings of his poems.
