Are you a student who wants to study at the Nigerian Defence Academy?

The Nigerian Defence Academy is a military training school to train officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

If you want to become a Nigeria Armed Forces officer, this is the best school you can attend.

However, the admission into Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is very competitive every year.

The NDA admits only 175 intakes (155 males and 20 females) into the school each year for the Regular Combatant Course.

Some candidates did not get admitted into the NDA because of costly mistakes they made while applying for the school admission.

Nigerian Defence Academy NDA Admission Requirements

1. You must have O-Level results with at least five (5) credit passes in different subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. 

Your O-Level results can be WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB and should not be more than two sittings.

2. As a UTME candidate, you must score at least 180 in the JAMB exam. The Academy will not accept any score less than 180.

3. As a Direct Entry candidate, you must make NDA your first choice.

4. You must be at least 17 years old and NOT more than 21 years old as of September in the year of entry into the academy.

5. Must NOT be less than 1.68 meters tall for males and 1.65 meters for females.

6. You must physically and medically fit with proof, and you must have good moral character. 

7. French, Arabic, and Mandarin language are added advantages.

8. You must be a single male or female without a legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.

9. Present a Certificate of indigeneship from the state government or local government area.

1. Your application form will not be accepted without your O-Level results.

2. Nigerian Defence Academy does not accept awaiting results. Candidates with awaiting results will be disqualified.

3. Admission to the academy is for both male and female Nigerians only. Foreign citizens cannot join the academy.

4. Only O-Level results of NOT more than five (5) years old from the date of examination will be accepted. 

That is, your O-Level results must not be more than five (5) from the examination date.

2. How long is NDA training?

The NDA training is for 3 years.

3. How much are the school fees of NDA?

The total school fees for the undergraduate fresh student is N80,000. You may have to pay some extra fees by the Academy.

4. Does NDA allow phones?

No, NDA does not allow phones for the students on the Academy campus.

5. How many courses are in NDA?

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) offers 19 courses in the school and the courses are under four (4) faculties. The faculties are Art and Social Sciences, Engineering, Science, and Interdisciplinary and Cyber Security.

6. Is NDA a free school?

No, NDA is not a free school. You are to pay a tuition fee to the Academy.

7. What is the age limit for NDA?

The age limit for NDA is 17 years to 21 years. Anyone who is more than 21 years of age does not qualify for admission. Moreso, married candidates are not allowed into the Academy.

8. Does NDA students go to war?

No, they don't. Most cadets, who graduated from NDA continue as officers in the Armed Forces.

9. Does NDA pay its students?

No, NDA does not pay their students while in the Academy training.

10. Which post is given after NDA?

After graduating from NDA, you will be appointed a Lieutenant.
