Air Pollution - JSS1 Basic science Lesson Note
Air pollution occurs when harmful substances such as particulate matter, gases, and chemicals are introduced into the Earth's atmosphere, primarily from human activities like burning fossil fuels, industrial processes, vehicle emissions, and agricultural activities. These pollutants can have detrimental effects on human health, including respiratory issues, cardiovascular diseases, and even cancer. They also contribute to environmental problems such as acid rain, smog formation, and climate change by trapping heat in the atmosphere, leading to global warming.
