Area of Trapeziums (Trapezoids in the US) - JSS3 Mathematics Lesson Note

The formula for the area of a trapezium is:

Area=½×(base1+base2)×height

For example:

Consider a trapezium with base 1 of 4 units, base 2 of 6 units, and a height of 3 units.

Area=½×(4+6)×3

=½×10×3

=15 square units

Hence, the area of this trapezium is 15 square units.
