Basic Drawing Tools and Their Uses - JSS1 Basic technology Lesson Note

1. Drawing Board: A flat surface used as a stable base for drawing papers. It ensures the drawings are neat and precise.

2. T-Square: A T-shaped instrument used for drawing horizontal lines and aligning other drawing tools.

3. Set Squares: Triangular tools, usually with angles of 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90°, used for drawing accurate angles and perpendicular lines.

4. Compasses: Instruments used for drawing circles and arcs. They can also measure distances between points on the drawing.

5. Protractor: A semi-circular tool used to measure and draw angles.

6. Ruler/Scale: Used to draw straight lines and measure distances. Scales often come with various units of measurement.

7. Drawing Pencils: Pencils of different grades (e.g., HB, 2B, 4H) are used to create lines of varying thickness and darkness.

8. Eraser: Used to correct mistakes and remove unwanted marks from the drawing.

9. Drawing Paper: The medium on which the drawings are made. It needs to be of good quality to ensure clarity and durability.
