Circuit: Series and Parallel - JSS3 Basic science Lesson Note
Series Circuit: In a series circuit, components are connected end-to-end so that there is only one path for the current to flow. If one component fails or is removed, the circuit is broken, and no current can flow. The total resistance in a series circuit is the sum of the individual resistances.
Parallel Circuit: In a parallel circuit, components are connected in multiple branches, providing multiple paths for the current to flow. If one component fails, the others can continue to operate. The total resistance in a parallel circuit is less than the smallest individual resistance. This is because adding more paths for current to flow decreases the overall resistance.
