Color Mixing - JSS2 Cultural and creative art Lesson Note
Red + Yellow: Mixing red and yellow creates orange. This is because when you mix red, which is at one end of the color spectrum, with yellow, which is in the middle, you get a blend of the two, resulting in orange.
Blue + Yellow: Mixing blue and yellow produces green. Blue and yellow are primary colors, and when combined, they create a secondary color, green.
Green + Red: Mixing green and red creates brown. This happens because green is a primary color and red is a secondary color. When combined, they produce a tertiary color, which is brown.
Black + Red: Mixing black with red darkens the red color, creating shades of maroon or burgundy, depending on the proportions. Black is used to darken colors.
White + Black: Mixing white with black creates shades of gray. Adding more white lightens the shade, while adding more black darkens it.
Green + Yellow: Mixing green and yellow creates shades of lime or chartreuse, depending on the proportions. Green is a primary color, and when mixed with yellow, a secondary color, it creates tertiary colors.
