Comprehension Passage - JSS2 English language Lesson Note
Once upon a time, in a small village in Nigeria, there lived a farmer named Chidi. Chidi was known for his hard work and the high quality of his crops. One day, while working in his farm, he found a wounded eagle. Despite being scared, Chidi decided to help the eagle. He took it home, nursed it back to health, and soon, the eagle was strong enough to fly again.
The eagle, grateful for Chidi's kindness, promised to help him whenever he needed. Chidi laughed it off, not thinking much of it. However, a few months later, a big storm was forecasted to hit the village. Chidi was worried about his crops. He didn't know what to do.
Seeing Chidi's distress, the eagle offered to help. It flew high above the storm clouds, saw the direction of the storm, and signaled Chidi to move his crops to a safer location. With the help of his fellow villagers, Chidi moved his crops just in time. The storm came and went, but Chidi's crops were safe.
The villagers hailed the eagle as a hero and thanked it for saving their crops. From that day forward, they treated the eagle with kindness and respect. Chidi's act of kindness towards the eagle had saved the village from a potential disaster.
