Maintaining the correct sitting posture while keyboarding is essential to prevent discomfort, strain, and potential long-term health issues. Here are some key points for a proper sitting posture:
Chair: Use a chair with good lumbar support to maintain the natural curve of your lower back. Adjust the height of the chair so that your feet are flat on the floor or on a footrest.
Keyboard position: Place the keyboard at a height that allows your elbows to be at a 90-degree angle when your forearms are parallel to the floor. Keep the keyboard directly in front of you, and ensure there is enough space for your mouse or trackpad.
Arm position: Keep your arms relaxed and close to your body, with your elbows bent at a right angle. Avoid reaching too far or stretching your arms excessively while typing.
Wrist position: Keep your wrists straight and in line with your forearms. Avoid bending your wrists upward or resting them on the edge of the keyboard, as this can lead to strain.
Posture: Sit up straight with your shoulders relaxed and your head in a neutral position. Avoid slouching or leaning forward excessively, as this can put strain on your neck and back.
