Museum: A museum is a curated space where objects of historical, cultural, scientific, or artistic significance are exhibited, preserved, and interpreted for public viewing and education. Museums can vary widely in focus, size, and scope, but they generally serve as repositories of knowledge and cultural heritage.

 

Gallery: A gallery, on the other hand, is a space, often within a museum or independently operated, primarily dedicated to the exhibition and sale of works of art. Galleries can showcase various forms of visual art, such as paintings, sculptures, photographs, and installations, typically for commercial purposes.
