Definition of Computer Viruses - JSS3 Computer Studies Lesson Note
A computer virus is a malicious software program designed to replicate itself and spread from one computer to another, often causing harm to data, files, or the entire system. Like a biological virus, computer viruses attach themselves to legitimate programs and files, and when these infected programs are executed, the virus activates and starts its destructive activities. Computer viruses can be designed to perform various harmful actions, including corrupting files, stealing sensitive information, and disrupting the normal functioning of a computer.
