Definition of waves - SS3 Physics Lesson Note

In physics, waves are disturbances that propagate through space, often carrying energy and momentum as it travels. A wave is a propagation of undulation from place to place in a regular and organized way. It is simply a moving disturbance in the energy level of a field. A wave can be described as a periodic or non-periodic oscillation or vibration that travels through a medium, such as air, water, or even a vacuum (empty space).

Some common examples of waves include sound waves, light waves, radio waves, and seismic waves. Waves are an essential concept in many fields of science and technology, including physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering.
