Division of Two to 3-Digit Binary Numbers - JSS3 Mathematics Lesson Note

Binary division is similar to long division in decimal. It involves finding how many times the divisor fits into the dividend.

 

Example: Division of 110 by 10

Let's divide 110 by 10.

110÷10

       11

    -----

10 | 110

   - 10

    -----

     10

    -10

    -----

      0

So, 110÷10=11.

 

Example: Division of 1100 by 11

Let's divide 1100 by 11.

1100÷11

      100

    ------

11 | 1100

   - 110

    -----

      000

 

So, 1100÷11=100.
