Drug abuse - JSS1 Home Economics Lesson Note

Drug abuse can be defined as the inappropriate taking of drugs into the body without proper prescriptions from a qualified doctor or health practitioner. Drugs are of different types which may be used to improve health or damage it. Drugs are of two kinds;

  1. Those that are used to improve health which are legal and usually prescribed by a medical doctor.
  2. Those which can damage out health which are called hard drugs. They are illegal and harmful to health e.g tobacco, alcohol, Indian-hemp, cocaine and heroin etc.
