Erosion and Its Types - JSS3 Agricultural Science Lesson Note

Erosion is the process of soil loss by the action of wind, water, or other agents. There are several types of erosion, including:

1. Water Erosion: Caused by rainfall, runoff, and water flow, leading to the detachment and transport of soil particles.

2. Wind Erosion: Occurs when wind carries away loose soil particles from the land surface, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions.

3. Sheet Erosion: Uniform removal of a thin layer of soil across a broad area.

4. Gully Erosion: Formation of deep channels or gullies due to concentrated water flow, often exacerbated by poor land management practices.
