Factors Influencing Population Growth - JSS3 Social studies Lesson Note
- Fertility Rates: Fertility rates refer to how many babies are born in a certain place. If more babies are born, the population tends to grow.
- Mortality Rates: Mortality rates show how many people pass away in a specific area. If fewer people die, it contributes to a population increase.
- Migration: Migration means people moving in and out of an area. When many people come in, the population goes up, and if they leave, the population may decrease.
- Healthcare: Access to healthcare is about how easily people can get medical help. If more people can get good healthcare, it usually means fewer deaths and a healthier population.
- Economic Stability: Economic stability is like how well-off or prosperous a place is. If people have enough money and resources, they can plan their families better, affecting how many kids they have and, in turn, impacting population growth.
