Gravitation and Weightlessness - JSS1 Basic science Lesson Note

Gravitation is the natural phenomenon by which objects with mass attract one another. It is the force that gives weight to objects with mass.

Weightlessness occurs when an object experiences no force due to gravity. This often happens in space or during free fall, where objects and astronauts seem to float because they are falling together.

In weightlessness, objects still have mass but appear weightless because they are in a state of continuous free fall, counteracting the force of gravity.
