An official in gymnastics is like a referee or judge in other sports. Their main job is to make sure that the competition runs smoothly and fairly. Here are some of their key duties:

 

Judging Routines: They watch each gymnast's performance and assign scores based on how well they executed their moves. This involves assessing things like technique, difficulty, and artistry.

 

Enforcing Rules: Officials ensure that all competitors follow the rules of the sport. This includes things like time limits for routines, safety regulations, and equipment standards.

 

Managing Competitions: They oversee the entire event, from warm-ups to award ceremonies. This involves coordinating with other officials, athletes, coaches, and spectators to ensure everything runs on schedule.
