Habitat - SS1 Biology Lesson Note
A habitat is a specific environment or area where organisms live and interact with their surroundings. It provides the necessary conditions, resources, and interactions for the survival and reproduction of a species. Habitats have physical characteristics such as climate, topography, and soil composition, as well as biotic components including plants, animals, and microorganisms. Organisms have adaptations that help them cope with the environmental conditions and utilize available resources within their habitat. Habitat diversity exists due to variations in size, structure, and composition, including terrestrial, aquatic, and specialized habitats that support a wide range of species.
