Intercropping Techniques - JSS1 Agricultural science Lesson Note
Intercropping involves growing two or more crops simultaneously in the same field.
1. Row Intercropping: Different crops are planted in alternating rows, allowing for efficient use of space and resources.
2. Strip Intercropping: Crops are grown in strips rather than rows, facilitating easier management and harvesting.
3. Mixed Intercropping: Involves a mix of different crops grown together in the same field, providing a diverse and productive agricultural system.
4. Relay Intercropping: Involves planting a second crop among the first crop when it is at a later stage of development, allowing for sequential harvesting.
