International Date Line (IDL) - SS1 Geography Lesson Note
The International Date Line is an imaginary line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole, roughly along the 180th meridian in the Pacific Ocean.
It is the line where one day ends, and the next day begins. When you cross the IDL from west to east, you lose a day, and when you cross it from east to west, you gain a day.
It is not a straight line and can deviate to avoid cutting through certain land areas or to accommodate different countries' time zones.
