After the birth of Jesus and Mary had other children, both boys and girls. The boys were James, Joses, Simon and Judas. The names of Jesus sisters were not mentioned.

JESUS AND HIS SIBLINGS [LK 2:41-52 MATT 12: 46-50

At the age of twelve (12), Jesus went with his parents to Jerusalem to attend the feast of Passover as was the custom every year. At the end of the feast, Jesus stayed behind at Jerusalem and discussed the scriptures with the elderly teachers in the temple.

The parents of Jesus were not aware that Jesus was not with them .After they realized this, they returned from their journey to Jerusalem. They had to return to Jerusalem to look for him, they found him in the temple, listening to the elders and also asking them questions, his parents as well as the audience were surprised at the level of his understanding. When his mother asked why he had behaved that way, he replied “Did you not know that I must be in my father’s house”

Also, the people of Nazareth, did not accept him as the savior, they only knew him as the carpenter’s son, the son of Mary and the brother to James.

The action prompted Jesus to say that a prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his kin and house.

While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him. Verse 47(Someone(told(Him,(“Look,(Your(mother(and(brothers(are standing ((outside, (wanting (to speak (to You.” Verse 48 But Jesus replied, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”…

Whosoever shall do the will of my father in heaven is my brother, and my sister and my mother.--This is, then, what Christ recognizes as the ground of a spiritual relationship. Not outward, but inward fellowship; not the mere fact of baptism, but that which baptism signifies; that doing the will of God, which is the essence of holiness--this is that which makes the disciple as dear to the heart of Christ as was the mother whom He loved so truly.
