Introduction - JSS3 Christian Religious Studies Lesson Note

The Ascension of Jesus Christ marked the last time Jesus appeared physically to the disciples. The Ascension also marked the time the disciples will begin to wait for the Holy Spirit which Jesus promised them.

 Before the Ascension of Jesus Christ. He instructed His disciples to preach repentance and forgiveness of sins to all nations starting from the Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and utmost part of the earth.

 He urged the disciples to remain in the city of Jerusalem until they receive the Holy Spirit. The coming of the Holy Spirit marked the foundation of the church.
