Electrical systems are categorised into AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current):
- AC (Alternating Current): Flows in both directions periodically, commonly used in homes and businesses due to its efficient transmission over long distances.
- DC (Direct Current): Flows in one direction, used in electronics and portable devices due to its stable voltage.
