Advantages:

- Increased Productivity: By focusing on improving specific traits, farmers can increase the overall productivity of their livestock. This means more meat, milk, or other products from the same number of animals.
- Adaptation: Farmers can tailor their animals to better suit their local environment. For example, by selectively breeding for heat tolerance, animals can thrive in hot climates.
- Disease Resistance: Some improvement methods include breeding for disease resistance, which can reduce the need for costly treatments and keep animals healthier.
Disadvantages:
