Noun
It can simply be defined as words used to name people or persons, places, things, ideas and concept, subjects, days and months, animals etc.
The types of nouns are:
1. Proper Noun: This refers to the specific names of:
a. Persons e.g. John, Samuel, Ada
b. Cities, towns, country, continents and Institutions e.g. Lagos, Abuja, Nigeria.
c. Months and days e.g. January, December, Monday.
2. Common Nouns: They are names given to people, places or things of the same kind. e.g. man, boy, teacher, doctor, pastor.
3. Abstract Noun: These are names of things we can neither see nor touch; we know they exist by experience and feeling. .e.g. thirst, air, wind, justice, hatred, love.
4. Collective Noun: These are names of a group or a collection of people, animals or things e g. gang, flock, class, fleet, and team.
5. Concrete Noun: These are names of things we can touch and see e g. chair, bottle, plate duster etc.
