Isolation - SS3 Agriculture Lesson Note
Isolation is a method of controlling parasites by keeping infected individuals or animals away from healthy ones. This can apply to both human and animal populations. Isolation involves:
Quarantine: Infected individuals or animals are separated from healthy ones for a specific period to prevent the spread of parasites. This is commonly used in healthcare and animal husbandry.
Isolation Rooms: In healthcare settings, patients with contagious diseases are often placed in special rooms to prevent the spread of parasites to other patients.
Animal Pens and Housing: In farming and pet care, infected animals are isolated from healthy ones to prevent the transmission of parasites like worms or mites.
